OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY

              The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology was started in the year 2008.  This hospital is offering CEMONC  services  and emergency Obstetric care Services to women in and around Dharmapuri district.

Services offered:

O.P.  days and timings     I  -  Unit  -   mon/wed/fri
                                         II -  Unit   -  Tue/Thurs/Sat
                                         Sunday -  Alternate  units

Timings  -  7.30 to 12 noon

I.P. admission  -7020/annum

CME programme 

We  have  conducted  CME programme  on  prevention of  Post partum Hemorrhage.
 
Symposiums
 
We have  been conducting regular symposiums on  obstetric  and  gynaecological   topics. This  is a  referral  centre where  nearly  50%  of  cases have been referred from nearby  PHC's  , Taluk  head  quarters  hospitals  and  also from  private  health  sectors. Since  this  is the  only  hospital  where  blood  bank facilities  are available  round the clock in this  district,  anaemia, haemorrhage  and  shock constitute 70% of the  referral  cases.  Obstetric  emergencies  like  eclampsia,  DIC  are  dealt  and treated with  good  ventilator  support  and ICU care.
