In 2008 Government Head Quarter’s Hospital, Dharmapuri was converted into Government Dharmapuri Medical College and Hospital, since then Dental department provides good quality dental care to all the patients irrespective of their Social and Economic backgrounds. Dental care means painless comfortable treatment which not only prevents dental loss but restores lost damaged dental structures.
We diagnose various dental diseases, providing excellent Conservative, Prosthodontic management, minor and major oral & maxillofacial surgical procedures under CMCHIS, Emergency management of maxillofacial trauma cases & Medico legal cases.
This department works all the days of the week except on Sunday’s, from 8a.m to 12 noon. An average of about 9,560 Out patients/yr and 960 In-patients/ yr including adult, children and geriatric patients with various common and rare dental ailments get benefited.

One of our faculty was deputed to Japan for training in the management of Dental Flurosis as part of Hoggenakkal Water Supply & Fluorosis Mitigation Progect. With upgradation of infrastructure to treat Dental Fluorosis cases by TWAD/JICCA, this department is going to be the tertiary care referral centre in management of Dental Fluorosis in Dharmapuri District.
